Google Expands Mobile Ad Empire
(18/09/2007, BWCS Staff)
Following the news yesterday that Nokia is to purchase Boston-based mobile advertising technology company Enpocket, online search and advertising giant Google has announced an expansion of its mobile empire. The company has reportedly made it clear that from now on, any mobile interface compatible website will be able to use the Google ad platform. The news means that any publisher that has a mobile version of their website can apply Google adverts to it. Google says it currently offers access to its mobile AdSense network to publishers in 13 nations including China, Germany, India, Spain, the UK and the US. Until now, the company only allowed partner sites to participate in its mobile network. The news today means that Google expects to see a major boost in its mobile advertising customer base in the coming months. The company is not alone; however, MSN, Yahoo and AOL are all working hard on promoting their own mobile advertising platforms.
