Indian network services company GTL has announced a strategic alliance with the UK wing of the Ericsson empire to provide managed network infrastructure services in the British mobile market. According to Manoj Tirodkar, MD of GTL, the alliance marks, "A significant expansion to the existing cooperation between the two companies. The partnership will give us an entry into the high growth managed network infrastructure services market." Ericsson UK currently has some wide-ranging managed services contracts with the major UK mobile operators. However, the GTL tie-up is its first partnership with another network services company. The two companies will work closely to form a strong strategic business relationship in the marketing, roll out, and operation of managed infrastructure and related equipment, GTL said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange. Ericsson will integrate GTL's services in the pre bid stage and generate opportunities for managed infrastructure from its managed services activity in the UK market.
